Opening Weekend at Boreal
This past weekend Boreal opened operations for skiers and riders to come and get some pre-season turns. I was lucky enough to make it out on Saturday and it was a blast! Here is a quick run-down of what went down:
Boreal offered one lift with various features for skiers and riders to test their skills on. On the skiers left side of the run there was a flat box with a slant. Following this was a 20 foot lift tower tube which was my personal favorite of the day. After this there was a small up-rail pole jam into a metal ball tap. The skiers right side of the run featured a rainbow box into a down rail. As always, there was a lot of people out there on the lone run, but this is bound to happen as everyone is anxious to get back on snow after waiting all summer long. Furthermore, Boreal was offering tickets for only $15, which I felt was very reasonable for pre-season conditions. The stoke was extremely high and it was hard to find a face that wasn’t smiling. Check out this edit from opening weekend to see for yourself:
Tomorrow Boreal is opening up for the season at 9 A.M with $15 tickets for all. They are opening up the castle peak quad with one terrain park and will be open until four. After this, they plan to be open from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. for the remainder of the season. Although they have not said what type of features they plan on setting up tomorrow, I’m sure it is going to be a good time! So dust of those old skis or board and head out to Boreal this weekend to get your early season ski fix!
